Bible Storying for Muslim audiences

This story is found in John 5

This story is quite important for a Muslim listener. They need to understand why the Jews wanted to have Jesus killed as Muslims do not believe in the divinity of Christ nor his death.

There was a pool in Jerusalem where men went to be healed. There were all kinds of sick, lame, and blind people.

from time to time an angel of the Lord would appear. When it moved the water, the first person to get into the water would be healed.

There was a man that had been invalid for 38 years. When Jesus saw him and his situation he said to him...

"Do you want to be healed?" Jesus asked

"There is no one to take me to the water, when it is moved. " the man answered

stand up, take your mat and go.

The man stood up and was healed/p>

A Jewish religious leader saw him "It is not lawful for you to carry your mat on a sabath day!"

"The man who healed me told me to take it and leave"

"Who told you that?" asked the relgious leader

But he did not know, because Jesus did not remain in that place.

Later Jesus found him in the temple "You are now healed, do not live in sin again or something worse will happen."

The man then went and told the religious leaders that it was Jesus that healed him. They became angry and began to plot against Jesus because he healed the man on a Sabath.

So they came and gathered around Jesus
My father is working until now, so must I work.
At these words they became more upset and wanted to kill him. Not for breaking the sabath, but because he said his father was God - thus making himself too be equal with God.
The father judges no one, but has given all judgement to the Son. Whoever hears my words and believes him them has eternal life. He does not come to judgement but has passed from death unto life.
The Jews wanted to kill him, but couldn't because his time had not yet come.

Turkmania

I have just completed work on this book that details how I began to work among the Turkmen.

The Turkmen are a minority group that are found throughout the Middle East. This book combines both instruction and also personal stories of my time with them.

Although, you might not be dealing with the Turkmen, the lessons in this book can help you wherever you find yourself serving.
